Treatment of fractures and false joints of the femoral neck in aged and senile patients is a difficult problem for orthopaedic traumatologists. One of the main tasks when treating this category of patients consists in their early activation by use of the method of hip joint arthroplasty. The article analyses results of hip joint arthroplasty with unipolar and total endoprostheses in 132 patients with fractures and false joints of the femoral neck. The function of the operated joints was assessed by the Harris hip score. It was found out that there were more excellent and good functional results in the group of patients with fractures (90.5 %) than in the group with false joints of the femoral neck (75.9 %). A direct dependence of the results of treatment upon the patients’ activity before their injury was revealed.References
