Abstract

The article contains data of a histological study of menisci, which were removed because of their destruction in 17 patients during surgical interventions on the knee joints for structure anomalies. Tissues of the removed menisci revealed destructive changes (disturbances in histoarchitectonics, cell necrobiosis, destructions in the collagen fibre network) and reparative manifestations (connective tissue vegetations), which could be caused by chronic traumatism of dysplastic menisci as a result of abnormal relationships of the knee joint elements in dysplasia.
