The article describes a possible increase in the quality of providing invalids with technical means of rehabilitation with help of a new class of materials, silicones, in prosthetic-orthopaedic technologies. Different types of silicones are characterized. A principle of silicone type choosing for different groups of products is formulated, and data are presented about practical application of Ukrainian low- and high-temperature silicones to orthosis and prosthesis making.
