Prevention of fat embolism in casualties with severe injuries

Fat embolism significantly aggravates the course of traumatic disease, absence of reliable laboratory-instrumental tests and pathognomonic symptoms creating significant problems for its opportune diagnosis. Causes of development of fat embolism in casualties with severe mechanical injuries were analysed. Adequate treatment of injuries from the moment of injuring at all stages of medical aid provision was the best method for preventing fat embolism.References
