Abstract

The article presents results of a comparative biomechanical experimental study of fixation properties of different implant designs for corrective ventral fusion. The character of deformation and exhaustion of the load-carrying capacity of the experimental low-profile ventral spinal implant, designed at the Institute, were studied in different load conditions and during its test work versus existing analogues: double- and single-rod metal implants. It was found out that, despite the low profile of its fixation unit, our fixing device took deformities in torsion, compression and bending better than other fixing devices studied.
