Integrated diagnosis and early functional treatment of hip joint dysplasia in preterm children

Abstract

The purpose of the present work was to work out an algorithm for early diagnosis of congenital hip dislocations in premature babies for improving results of their treatment. The study involved 64 premature and 68 full-term babies with their clinical examination, sonography of the hip joints with use of Doppler ultrasonography of the major vessels in the hip joint region, biochemical methods for blood and urine tests. It was revealed that the principle of an «integrated approach» in diagnosing congenital hip dislocations made it possible to start treatment within the earliest terms and get good results of the treatment.
