Abstract

Walking features of 31 patients with unstable damages of the ankle joint were examined in the past history during their restorative treatment. Spatial parameters of walking (the length of the long and short steps) were assessed by comparing the intact and injured extremities. It was proved that early rehabilitative measures after surgical treatment resulted in a more rapid physiological adaptation following an injury, a prolonged immobilization reducing this capacity.
